Shelter FAQs

We serve the City of Erie and Erie County, as well as Clarion County, Warren and Forrest Counties in Pennsylvania for strays. We do allow out-of-town adoptions, and follow the same procedures for such. If you live outside of Erie County, and are interested in adoption, please contact us for more information, or stop by during our scheduled hours to visit all of our adoptable pets!

Additional adoption info

Each adoption must take place with you coming to the shelter (we do not ship animals). There is an application and agreement that must be completed and reviewed by a member of our staff. All pets adopted at the shelter location receive booster shots, deworming and flea preventative. Records will be provided at the time of the adoption. Adoption fee is $55 cats, $150 and up for dogs. A City of Erie dog license and Erie county license will be provided at the time of the adoption, if the dog will reside in either of those areas.
