Forgotten Paws Pet Rescue

Animal rescue in Acworth, GA

Forgotten Paws Pet Rescue is made up of a very small group of volunteers. We all work full time jobs while running this rescue group. We all dip into our own pockets on a daily basis to get these pets the medical care and supplies that they need to survive until we can find them their forever homes. Unfortunately, some of them have to wait in line for care because we do not have the monetary means to help them immediately. That is where your donations come in.

Our rescued pets live in our homes, under our supervision. We do our best to train, housebreak and perfect these pets to the best of our abilities so that when we do find them their forever homes, they work out.

We at Forgotten Paws revere our rescued pets like our own. We treat them like members of our families until they can be adopted. We are a NO KILL group and we also ask that if a pet does not work out for any reason, 2 days or 10 years down the road, please return them to us. We love them that much.

Our motto: When we rescue a pet, we are in it for life. We are not just looking for a home, we are looking for the right home.

Additional adoption info

Adoption Process:
**********************************************************
October only, adoption fee is $100, that's half the price!
**********************************************************
1. All applicants must be 23 years of age and must complete an adoption application.
2. You application will be reviewed and all veterinary and personal references will be contacted
3. Home Visit / Play Date - All household members, including current pets, are required to attend the home visit. All needed repairs to fencing must be completed prior to this visit. Gates to the yard need to be securing locked.
4. Two Week Trial Adoption Period - We require the two week trial on all adoptions so that the new pet has time to get settled and their true personalities can surface. It gives the new home a chance to make sure this pet is the right fit for everyone involved. Please understand that like a child, a new pet needs time to adjust and settle in. There is an adjustment period.
5. Adoption Agreement and Adopton Fee of $200 ($150 for seniors).
6. One policy to note: If you have children and you are applying for a dog, we will require you to have a physically fenced yard. Electric fencing is not acceptable in most cases but exceptions are sometimes made dependent upon the dog.
