We are the Animal Control Facility for the Town of Ellington, CT. We take in stray dogs and make every attempt to reunite them with their owners. If that fails, we do our best to try to find them a new home. At this time there are no roaming laws for cats so we cannot pick up stray cats, unless it is an urgent situation. We can only take in unwanted/relinquished pets as space permits.

Additional adoption info
All animals are adopted out under the State of CT. Animal Population Control Program, if they are not spayed or neutered. The cost for adoption is $50, which includes a voucher to help with the cost of the spay or neuter and includes the Rabies and Distemper shots. This program is only available to residents of the State of CT. The cost for Out of State adopters or for pets that are already spayed or neutered is $5. The results from this Spay and Neuter Program have already begun to help the over-population in the State of CT. We hope that every State will make an honest effort to insure that Shelter Pets are Spayed or Neutered when adopted.
