Rescue FAQs

Primarily Washington, DC metropolitan area, but we accept adopters from anywhere in the US - as long as they are willing to come in person to complete the adoption process and pick up their dog. We do NOT ship dogs!

  • 3. Meet the Pet
  • 4. Approve Application
  • 5. Sign Adoption Contract
  • 6. Pay Fee
  • 7. Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out, an interview with one of our volunteers (this can be done at the adoption event), a home visit is required prior to the animal going to their new home. An adoption fee is required to adopt a pet from AFH. Please visit our primary website at www.aforeverhome.org for details.
