Adopt-A-Dog

Dog rescue in Santa Rosa Beach, FL

Questions and Answers:

What is Adopt-A-Dog?
A volunteer organization formed to help in the rescue and rehabilitation of unwanted canines.

How does it work?
We rescue dogs from kill shelters when their time is up.

How do I know the money I donate will go to help a dog?
You can make a donation in our name directly to the veterinarian.

Can I drop off a canine at your facility?
No, we are not a shelter. Canines are fostered at private homes until adopted.

How do you pay for medical expenses for the canines?
We rely totally on donations.
What kind of medical expenses are there?
Canines are always neutered before being adopted. There is also the vaccinations. In special cases there are extensive costs due to neglect. Examples are Parvo, Heartworms or accidents.

How come I can’t just come get one?
These canines have been through enough already and we want to assure that they are placed in the best possible homes that are available.

Do you need foster homes?
Yes, we are always looking for foster homes for the canines awaiting adoption. Or to foster on a short term basis (such as a weekend) to give a full-time foster parent a break.
We even have fosters who work together taking turns taking care of litters of pups.
