Additional adoption info
Along with the completion of a new shelter facility in 2006, came our new partnership with Nevada Humane Society (NHS). Nevada Humane Society and Washoe County Animal Services share the new building on Longley Lane. Since Washoe County no longer adopts out animals, NHS handles the adoption process of animals at WCRAS that are not claimed by their owners. When a person is interested in adopting a stray animal, they advise NHS and if the animal is not claimed, NHS will pick up the animal and adopt it out.
