Animal Control enforces the state laws and local ordinances dealing with animal control.
Our department issues citations for violations, respond to citizen complaints regarding animals, and patrols the county to pick-up stray animals and respond to other animal related concerns.
Our officers investigate and follow up on charges of animal abuse and informs the public on the animal control laws and ordinances as well as related issues.
The Animal Control Department responds to and investigates complaints related to stray animals, barking dogs, animal bites, dead or injured animals, livestock killings and other animal related complaints. We then take action to resolve the matter. We work with owners and neighbors in the attempted resolution of animal related problems.
Our officers investigate suspected cases of animal abuse or neglect, including reviewing the condition of the animals, interviewing the owner and witnesses, and determining whether to issue a citation.
