Beauty Through The Rust is a small, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Central VA. Our primary goal is to match rescue animals with living situations that are best suited for their lifelong care; for that reason, we do not adopt on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our babies are loved and cared for in our own home with nurturing from our adult cats and a low energy senior dog; we believe our own pets provide the perfect environment for growing kittens, thus preparing our fosters for life in their furever home.

Adoption Applications are sent via email to potential adopters and are processed as quickly as possible. We perform vet checks, speak with references provided, & contact landlords and roommates as part of our application process. Once an application has been approved, a Meet-n-Greet in the home of the approved adopter is scheduled; this ensures compatibility with the family (including the furry family members). Our babies are loved and cared for in our own home with nurturing from our adult cats and a low energy senior dog; we believe our own pets foster acceptance and tolerance, thus preparing our foster kittens for life in their furever home. All BTTR kittens are fully vetted at the time of adoption (spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea/tick prevention & FELV/FIV testing).
