We are a cat rescue team in Corpus Christi, Texas. We bridge the gap between street rescue and adoption by pulling cats from critical situations and placing them into foster homes. Our network of foster homes provides medical care and socialization until the cats are ready to be placed into larger rescues and shelters for adoption. We prioritize medical cases, neonatal kittens and cats that are in harm’s way. We also pull cats and kittens that are at risk for euthanasia from the local and rural municipal shelters in the Corpus Christi area.
We are animal advocates who believe in education regarding the importance of spay/neuter and medical care. We advocate for responsible pet ownership and provide assistance to individuals in the community when resources allow. Our network of foster homes is volunteer-run. We rely exclusively on donations from the public and the use of personal funds to care for foster cats. We are not a shelter, therefore all cats remain in foster homes until they are ready for adoption. Our focus is to transfer healthy and adoptable cats to the local no-killers for adoption placement. We coordinate care with these facilities and they are an essential part of the rescue process. Occasionally we have cats available for private adoption, as listed here.

Additional adoption info
Email CoastalBendCats@gmail.com if interested in one of our adoptable pets. An initial phone call and/or email correspondence with our adoption team is suggested to ensure the pet is a good match for you. Pet meet-and-greets are available by appointment.
Once you have settled on a pet, we ask that you fill out an adoption application. The application requests your basic information, details about your current living environment, pet history, and a few personal references. If your application is approved, we require an in-person home visit prior to adoption (Skype teleconference may be substituted with approval).
Adoptions are finalized after spay/neuter surgeries are complete with a signed adoption contract and nonrefundable adoption fee of $50 per cat (we may offer specials for double adoptions).
The adoption contract stipulates that our adoptable pets remain indoors and that cats are never declawed. The contract requires that you surrender the pet back into our care if the pet is not a good fit for your home or your situation changes and you are no longer able to care for the pet. The contract guarantees that we will provide veterinary care for unexpected sickness or illness of the animal not to exceed 15 days from the contract signing.
Our adoption team takes a great deal of pride in our rescue animals. We believe the adoption process is not a hand-off, but rather a transition. Our adoption specialists are available via email or telephone to discuss any pet behavioral issues or concerns that arise as the pet transitions into your home.
