Story
Mila is a beautiful, 11 yr old, tan & white cattle dog mix whose string of bad luck is about to end.  Despite being failed by multiple humans in her life, Mila's heart is so good and she is one of the sweetest dogs.  She adores all humans, big or small.  She has become a staff and volunteer favorite because she's such great company in the lobby.  She enjoys belly rubs, toys, chews and will curl up in the lobby blankets and watch a movie on a tablet.  No one would guess her age because she's so playful, loves to go on long walks and is up for adventures.  Mila has a strong prey drive and we suspect she's sustained some past trauma involving other dogs because she goes into self protection mode.  Therefore, she cannot be around any other animals.  But that's ok because Mila has so much love and companionship to offer her forever family that she will fill their hearts to full.  Mila has many great years ahead of her and we know her perfect family is out there.   The adoption fee is $200 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. *Half of Mila's adoption fee has been sponsored by a loving donor! Her adoption fee is now $100.* We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Story
Rosie is an 8 year old female daschund mix who does NOT want to hear you call her an "ole lady". This sassy girl used 2024 to fine tune her diet, close her smartwatch rings and shed some unwanted pounds.  She is now sporting a newly contoured waistline and is ready to hit the dating scene again.  But Rosie doesn't want to be known just for her beautiful body.  Her personality is her greatest attribute.  A staff and volunteer favorite, she loves to spend quality time in the lobby chewing on a bone, playing with toys or snuggling in the blankets.  When a human comes into the lobby, she is eager to greet them and request a gentle tummy rub or a smooch.  Rosie is very serious about her fitness routine.  She is all business on her walks and prefers a brisk pace.  Rosie has done well around most other dogs, especially males dogs who are her size or smaller.  We have not cat tested her yet.  During her time in a foster home, she was potty trained once she learned the routine.  Rosie is enjoying her youthful appearance and is healthy enough to enjoy many more years of fun if her humans keep her on a strict diet with plenty of exercise.  Apply to meet our amazing Rosie! The adoption fee is $200 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Story
Danni is a 4 year old Cattle dog mix who is training to play ball for the major leagues one day. Her preferred pawrent would throw a ball for her all day long.  Her foster dad is encouraging her to expand her horizons and she is now enjoying long walks, squeeky toys, butt scratches, belly rubs and cuddles on the couch and bed.  She has mastered basic commands like "sit" and will now "wait" before eating her meal or exiting.  They are working on "paw", "lay" and "stay".  She appears to be potty trained and has not had any accidents in her foster home.  Danni had some past resource guarding tendencies so she should not go to a home with smaller kids.  She does tend to startle with loud noises and requires reassurance to settle down and relax in the car.  She does not seem to like other dogs but if her foster dad has her engaged in a game of fetch she is able to ignore the neighbor's dog barking at her. While Danni may be a bit anxious at first, she connects deeply with humans who show her compassion, patience, attention and have a good arm! Apply to meet Danni and she may do her spin excited dance for you! The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an application.   We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Story
Major is a stunningly handsome 4 1/2 yr old tan and white bully mix. His personality is as impressive as his name.  He loves people, belly rubs, toys, rides in pick up trucks and a good wrestling match in the playyard.  He's not a huge fan of cardio but if his favorite volunteers invite him to walk, he eagerly agrees and rewards them with polite leash skills.  He does have high prey drive so walkers need to be on the lookout for squirrels and he does NOT like cats!  Major prefers to navigate life on his own terms so his humans need to be physically strong, confident, consistent and patient with him.  Major's strength and play style makes him best suited to join a family with older kids and adults.  As we've introduced him to other dogs we've found him to be not only dog friendly but best buddy material.  Underneath Major's chiseled handsome exterior is a soft heart with a ton of love to offer his humans.  He scores high on the "cuddle bug" scale, loves to burrow in blankets and will melt into the couch with his favorite humans.  Major is quite the guy. You have to meet him to get the full extent of his awesomeness.  Apply to meet him. Major's adoption has been sponsored, so his adoption fee is $175 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Story
Ginny is a beautiful 50 lb shiba inu mix who originally came to us from the reservation.  She was adopted to a couple who returned her when they had a baby.  It sounded like the new parents and Ginny were all struggling to adapt to a big life change.  Ginny was heartbroken after losing her family but has slowly come out of her shell.  We have witnessed her to be guarded and very slow to warm up to new humans in her life.  She is very protective of her personal space and we've seen some resource guarding. Therefore, she will need be in a home with very patient adults, and possibly older children, with a consistent routine without a lot of new people coming and going.  She appears to be crate trained and will need to be fed in her crate or a room by herself.    She is an active girl who loves long walks and would enjoy a fenced yard for outdoor play, but is unlikely to be a dog park dog.  She entertains herself playing with her toys or chewing on bones.  She is highly intelligent and has mastered the commands "sit", "paw" and "down".  She is food motivated and once you're on her A list, she is eager to please.   Ginny has a dominant personality so she would likely do best in a home without other dogs or with a more submissive dog.  Ginny rides well in a car so if you want to go site-seeing she's up for the adventure.  Ginny will need a very specific home with a loving, patient, committed family.  If you want to meet this precious furbaby please contact Town and Country Animal Rescue. The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. **Part of Ginny's adoption fee has been sponsored by someone who loves her! Her adoption is $250 We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Story
Samantha is a sweet, eager Olde English Bulldog. She is partially house trained and is a quick study when it comes to new rules and environments. She would love a new snuggle partner and is often found wrapped up in her blankets at night. She gets along with other dogs, but I am sure would love to have a human all to herself. She is super athletic and does well with wide spaces to run. She likes her toys but does not chew them though she does chew her beef sticks!
