Story
Are you the type of person that likes to give sweet older pups a chance they might otherwise not get? Sweetie loves attention and will happily help you out by guarding the door of the bathroom from the inside. However, she can also be quite the independent little lady and doesn’t need to be a velcro dog… unless you want her to be! Sweetie can be a little bossy with her dog friends (part of why we think she’s mixed with chihuahua!) but generally gets along well with everyone. Sweetie is a beauty but would benefit from a little tough love when it comes to feeding and giving out treats and a little more activity in her day. A physically fenced yard is required. Sweetie is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. If you are interested in adopting Sweetie, please complete the online application here (copy and paste into your browser): https://hhdane.formstack.com/forms/lostpetrecoveryadoptionform

Story
ABOUT ME… My name is BooBoo! I am guesstimated to be an approximate 2-year-old yorkie/chihuahua mix. I ended up at the big loud scary county shelter with an unknown history. I was struggling with some fear and anxiety in the shelter setting, so COPAW pulled me outta there. Now I am enjoying the great life of demanding love and affection from the humans whenever I desire. I especially love to be carried around in a sling, so I am always by your side! I AM GREAT WITH… -People, dogs, and cats! -Basic commands! My favorite one is to “sit pretty” for my treats! I AM STILL WORKING ON… -Housebreaking. I am scheduled to be neutered on 4/16/25, but I am admittedly a bit of a marker. ___ VETTING... ~All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. ~If booster shots have not been completed prior to adoption, they may be completed at our clinic in Columbus, OH at no additional expense. Alternatively, the adopter can use their own vet to boost vaccinations, at their own expense. TERMS & CONDITIONS... ~Adopters must reside in the State of Ohio. ~No transportation assistance is provided; adopter must commute for meet & greet. ~Meet & greets are not scheduled until there is an approved adoption application on file. ~The expectation is that you will bring your new pet home from the meet & greet, if all goes well. Please be prepared to do so by bringing a collar, leash, harness, crate, etc. to secure your new pet.

Story
Butch was so frightened when arriving to us, but who wouldnt have been. Picked up as a stray with his buddy, Billy. Taken to the shelter where he was minutes from losing his life. Then transported across the country with lots of other barking and frightened pups. It’s been a whirlwind of stressful events. But even so, Butch began to relax slightly after a few days and after a week he allowed us to touch him. It just takes a little time and patience. Billy warms up a lot faster, but with time these two will be a delightful addition to any family. We are looking for someone with the time and patience to bring the best out in this sweet boy who Wants so badly to trust and believe there is good that exists in this scary world. At not quite three weeks we are now receiving kisses from Butch. Both boys are vaccinated, neutered, flea and tick treated and microchipped. Please submit an application to meet these sweet little guys. Canaananimalsanctuary.org

Story
Meet Milo and Chico, a father-son chihuahua Bonded Pair!!! A bonded pair means they are very emotionally attached and must be adopted together. 4 year old Milo weighs only 8 lbs and 5 year old dad Chico is 11 lbs.Milo is a loving precious soul and is amazing. Milo and Chico lost their home when their owner passed away but they are extremely bonded and we want to do our best to keep them together. Milo loves playing with his dad and will not sleep unless his dad is nearby. He does enjoy having his own bed. He loves a recliner, sofa and will curl up in a blanket with his nose buried so his dad can play hide and seek. These 2 are full of endless entertainment. Although they are bonded they will let you know they have enough love for you too...with lots of affection full of snuggles and kisses and when they roll over for a belly rub, you can't resist either.Milo went to a petstore event sponsored by canine collective with his dad and another larger CC dog. He had no probs with this larger dog. They were super friendly with everyone they met and got lots of attention, were well behaved, and very much enjoyed their day out. Our little boy is very loving and loves to be held. He looks at you as if he hangs onto your every word. He does know his name and listens very well. Milo goes out to potty but also uses a washable pee pad overnight. He loves his toys and will retrieve them after he shakes the daylights out of them. Our boys are both very quiet so they would do great in an apartment. These little guys are supersweet and lots of fun too. Since they are so small we think an adults only or a family with older kids would be fine. If Milo and Chico are what you're looking for, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Billy is a very sweet but shy boy who barely escaped death with his buddy Butch. They were already in the euth room in a shelter in Texas, but fortunately we were able to pull them just in time. Billy and Butch were roaming the streets with a few other dogs when they were picked up by ACS. It has been a rough start to life for these two, but we are hoping they will find a wonderful family to show them that life can be good and not all humans are bad or scary. They are definitely bonded and must be kept together. Billy adjusted pretty quickly, but little Butch is frightened and less trusting and will take a little longer to warm up. Once he begins to trust and relax, you will see his loving and kind personality emerge. Please submit an application to meet these two special boys. Canaananimalsanctuary.org

Story
Have you ever experienced a dad who just loved his son so much he just couldn't let go? Then you can understand 11 lbs 5 year old chihuahua Chico who has been with his son Milo since he was born and is a good Dad. Chico is very attached to his son and the feeling is mutual. They lost their home when their owner passed away and are looking for a new home where they can continue to be together.Chico loves playing with his son and will not sleep unless his son is nearby. He does enjoy having his own bed. He loves a recliner and sofa but needs to be able to see his son. They both got to attend an event at a local pets store and did great. These cute guys got lots of attention and of course they loved it. They were super friendly with everyone they met and did well meeting Radley who is much bigger than them. They were very well behaved and enjoyed their day out. Our fab photographer said Chico loved to pose for the camera and is quite photgenic. They are super sweet little guys and are so cute and fun. They are both pretty quiet so would be perfect in an aparrtment. You wouldnt even know Chico was in the room unless he couldnt find Milo. He will go outside to potty but overnight he can use washable pee pads if needed. If you have room in your heart and home for Chico and Milo, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Meet Sasha, a petite chihuhua that was rescued from horrific living conditions along with 4 other chi's. This girl is believed to be about 8-9 months according to vet and is tan with a black muzzle and areas of her face . Despite her rough start to life, Sasha is very outgoing and loves to be right in the middle of everything. This little 10 lb gal is the 'boss' of them all or so she thinks! She will stand on her back legs for treats. She too loves being held with gentle back scratches. Her rescuer loves to spoil the group so Sasha is getting to look forward to her treats and scritches every evening at bedtime. She loves to play with other littles and loves tug of war with ropes and chasing balls. If you think Sasha sound like the gal for you, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Meet Arie a petite chihuhua that was rescued from horrific living conditions along with 4 other chi's. We think her best buddy Brie is her sister as they look quite alike and have similar coloring. Arie is the one with the lighter coloring mixed in with white and she weighs 9 lbs. Although they do enjoy being around each other they aren't bonded so don't have to be adopted together. The vet think this outgoing gal is 8-9 months old. She loves to run and can jump out of playpens. She loves to play with other littles and loves to lay in the sun. She has come out of her shyness a great deal with a lot of love and affection to give.If you think Arie might be for you, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Meet Chica, a petite 11 lb chihuhua that was rescued from horrific living conditions along with 4 other chi's. Chica, at one year old, is the 'oldest' of the bunch and is white with a large tan spot on her back. She is not the mom of the others, but of course gains comfort from their presence. Chica is mature enough to learn housetraining easily, adapts to a potty schedule, and can also use pee pads indoors if needed.Despite her past, she learned quickly the power of a gentle touch and yummy treats. Thanks to the spoiling of our rescue partners in Kentucky, she loves being picked up. She also lays her paws her humans shoulders for gentle back scratch. You have to hold her as she will fall asleep in mid air. Chica went to a pets store event with her buddy Tory and was a star! She loved all the attention and would approach people with no fear. A patient, quiet home with no toddlers or larger dogs would fit her perfectly. If you think you could be that family that will give her a new life, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Pretty Girl! This little pretty has not had an easy go of it, as she spent many days in emergency care for Parvo and then some (over $8,000 in vet bills!) Pretty Girl is healthy now and making up for lost time. She is a petite princess and can sometimes be bossy with other dogs. She has had some exposure to cats in her current foster home. The cats there do not put up with dog nonsense. She is ready to have all your attention to herself. She can be a little timid and unsure so she will need to have your heart and your time. Because of her rough past, she can be a flight risk. She will need a physical 3 foot fenced yard that she cannot escape from and since she is so tiny, their can't be any spaces she will fit through. Pretty Girl is still working on leash training so a secured area will be the safest place to get her used to her new family and a leash. Just be patient with her and you won’t be disappointed. Pretty Girl is working on using the doggie door and piddle pads in her foster home. If you want the cutest addition to your home – turn in an application! She is ready for a stable and safe home. Columbus and surrounding areas only please. If you're interested in adopting, the first step in our adoption process is to submit an application on our website, www.dashanimalrescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 4, 2024, 1:55 pm
