Story
I'm a very energetic, sweet girl who likes to be the center of attention. I like long walks and belly rubs. I'm a very good fetcher! I do well in doggie parks and on beaches. I loooooove hikes! I was made for those. I'm a very good listener, and very smart! That's what I've been told, anyway. I'm very good with kids and adults, but I don't like sharing my own home with other dogs too much. I like to show them who’s the boss! I would be great placed in a home with a back yard, with older kids and no other dogs. If you are interested in meeting Dakota, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. [Dakota's DOB is 11/24/18 and she weighs 60 lbs.] (2011/2306)

Adopting a Harrier

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Harrier - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

You can adopt a Harrier at a much lower cost than buying one from a breeder. The cost of adopting a Harrier is around $300 in order to cover the expenses of caring for the dog before adoption. In contrast, buying Harriers from breeders can be prohibitively expensive. Depending on their breeding, they usually cost anywhere from $1,500 to $2,500.

The easiest way to adopt a Harrier would be through a rescue that specializes in Harriers. A great place to start is by starting a breed search on Adopt a Pet. The search will show you all the available Harriers in your area.
