When we first laid eyes on tiny Callie, our hearts totally melted. We found her at one of the highest-kill shelters in the country, in a kennel with 4 other larger dogs, totally being trampled. She looked up at us with her big puppy eyes, and we knew we had to save her. We counted down the days until she would become available - and were disappointed when she was adopted by a member of the general public before we were allowed to pull her.
One of the shelter volunteers, knowing how much we loved this girl, reached out to us three days later to tell us our little gal had been returned - why? Because she had a tick. Though disappointed that someone would dump this sweet baby back into hell for something as tiny as having a tick, we were THRILLED that we finally got to have our girl!
We can't understand how any fool could have given Callie up. Tiny, at only 5 pounds, and 3 months old, this baby is pure love. She is quiet, easy going, and affectionate beyond words.
She has the sweetest disposition...her little tail is always wagging, and although she's playful, she's not hyper. Her amazing foster mom, who, like us, adores all dogs, describes Callie as "absolutely exceptional". She tires herself out easily and loves nothing more than to fall asleep in your arms.
This beautiful little girl will make a perfect companion for her lucky new humans. She is great with other dogs, cats and kids. Callie captures the heart of everyone she meets and cannot wait to meet her new forever family.
