Regis is a male Havanese mix only 1 year of age. He has a lovely tricolor coat of gray, brown, and ivory. Regis has been professionally groomed and currently has a short summer cut. His coat is non-shedding and hypoallergenic. He is a truly gorgeous dog. One of the first things you notice about Regis are his large, soulful, chocolate brown eyes. Regis is a soft, sensitive dog and his eyes express this perfectly. He is a big baby, affectionate and loving. He most definitely prefers a quiet, gentle touch and does not like loud noises or chaotic environments. Regis promises to be an incredibly loyal one or two person dog. He adores being stroked on the head and will sit still for you while you give him soft, gentle petting. He also likes to be held and sit in laps. Sometimes he will even roll onto his back so you can give him a nice belly rub. Regis walks nicely on leash with a harness and will stay close to your side for comfort. He does well with other dogs and will quietly play with toys on his own or engage in a gentle game of chase with a doggie friend. He is a nice sturdy size, weighing in at a solid 18 pounds. Regis will do well with older children (teenagers and up) but will not be able to tolerate a younger crowd. Regis was brought in stray to a very high-kill shelter in a completely traumatized condition. It has taken him a while to get over his scary experience and he will still react with apprehension around people he does not know or in noisy situations. It is very likely that Regis has been mistreated in his past. If you take the time to earn his trust, Regis is very devoted. He will follow you everywhere and responds beautifully to a soft voice. He will come trotting over immediately when he is called by those he knows. Regis is a lovely young boy, healthy and ready for his forever home today!
Regis’s adoption donation is $350 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). He has been NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is his collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of his records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.
