Eddie is a handsome, sleek and lovable two-year-old bundle of Miniature Pinscher/ Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. His intelligence and desire to please are matched only by his initial shyness with new people. True to his Min-Pin heritage, Eddie is a bit wary of new people but once he is comfortable and knows each person, he is an incorrigible snuggler. Eddie is house-trained with a doggie door and has lived with cats and dogs of all sizes. He will do best in a home with at least one other calm and patient dog, to follow that dog’s lead in a new environment, and, some consistency of routine in the new household. A somewhat active home with calm and confident animals and some dog experience will be the best match for this little man. He weighs 12 lbs and is neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on shots. Eddie will be OK with older, dog savvy children; younger kids may be a bit too overwhelming for him. Eddies walks confidently on a leash and has been trained with positive reinforcement methods; he is very praise and treat-motivated.
Eddie is crate-trained and allowed to sleep in bed with his people at night. He is a great lap warmer for TV watching (if invited up) and he enjoys playing with tennis balls, chew toys and antlers. If you can earn the confidence of this special and shy guy, he will reward you with a lifetime of love. Really, all we are looking for, for Eddie, is someone who is a bit patient and does not expect Eddie to leap right into their lap upon first meet and instantly lavish you with kisses. We are looking for someone who understands that many of these rescued dogs are not immediate gratification, or “instant,” and can wait things out a bit to see the great dog that he is shine through. Eddie needs a chance with someone who has compassion and understanding of how the world can be a scary place but also a wonderful place once trust is gained. If you are interested in Eddie, please contact hijillo@hotmail.com or call 310-318-5662 for more information.
