Dumpling - baby (8 weeks of age) - female - Lab/Hound best guess - 5 pounds as of July 4, 2013 - reddish short, plush coat
Little Dumpling is the smallest of her litter, and a complete snuggler, unless, of course, she is playing, eating, or capering about. She devotes herself to each of her pursuits with uncommon focus for a puppy, so when she is snuggling in a lap, one of her favorite pastimes, she is totally and earnestly committed to that important task.
Dumpling is filled with faith and expects only good - she is outgoing, trusting, and affectionate with all people, animals, and new experiences. Like her sister and brother, she is curious and intrepid. There is a wistful sweetness in her expression and her nature, and great innocence.
Dumpling and her siblings were found as strays in rural West Virginia. Our organization thanks the dedicated and greatly under-resourced staff of the Roane County shelter, as well as the members of our own team and individuals from the Roane county region, who worked together to transport the puppies to their foster home.
We do not know the breed mixture of the pups, but feel that we are probably on target calling them Redbone/Lab mixes. Whatever their breeding, they are honest, open, and wonderful pups, and they will all be a joy to raise.
The adoption fee for Dumpling covers her continuing booster vaccines, and her spay procedure when she is six months of age. Due to her small size, we are not recommending Dumpling for placement in a home with small children, and we are requiring fenced yards for the puppies' adoptive homes.
