Champ - baby (8 weeks of age) - male - Hound/Lab best guess - 7 pounds - reddish/gold short, plush coat
This champion little fellow is aptly named, and he is a wonderfully brave, trusting, outgoing, and all-around first-rate pup.
Found with his sisters, Dumpling and Dixie, in rural West Virginia as strays, Champ has had complete faith in every person, experience, and animal he has met along the way in his journey from the Roane County Animal Shelter to his foster home. Our organization sincerely thanks the dedicated staff of Roane County, as well as the dedicated members of our own team and other committed people in Roane County who transported the puppies to Maryland.
Champ is the largest of the pups, who, although currently quite small, may grow to be large dogs. We have guessed that they are Redbone/Lab mixes. Whatever their breeding, they are all joyful, playful, and loving pups who expect only good from the world. Champ is quite a kisser, and his eyes shine with an optimistic, happy nature.
In our descriptive narratives we generally try to include a small list of the subject's favorite things - in Champ's case, we have yet to find anything he doesn't embrace happily - including rain, his foster family, his back yard, grass, food, toys, cuddling, and foods of all kind. He will bring immense joy to his adoptive home.
The adoption fee for Champ includes his ongoing vaccines, as well as his neuter procedure when he is 6 months of age. We do not recommend placement in homes with very small children, and we are requiring fenced yards for the puppies.
