Oh my! Hello! My name is Della (my foster Mom calls me Della bean.) I am so happy that you have stopped by to say Hello. Let me tell you a little bit about myself so that we can get to know each other better.
I am a 2-3 year old female Poodle/Rat Terrier (only a guess!!) who came to NBS Animal Rescue when my owner was no longer able to care for me and my babies. I was in a place where I wasn’t really getting much help and I had just had my babies. I needed a calm, quiet clean place that would provide love, comfort and all the food and medical needs that me and my new family required. Luckily, the very kind people at NBS Animal Rescue have given this to me and my babies and even more!
My foster mom says that I am a very sweet girl who likes to play and then come and get love. I am shy with new people at first. I don’t growl or snap…I just freeze, not really knowing if someone is going to hurt me or not. I wasn’t very well socialized with normal doggie stuff in my previous life but I have really learned how to trust and enjoy humans! Luckily it only takes me about a day to get comfortable in a new house and realize that my new caretakers are not going to hurt me.
I love running with my foster fur-sisters in the fenced yard, playing with toys, and getting my belly scratched. I'd love a home in which someone was there to love me, play with me for a bit, explore a fenced yard with, and then lounge in the shade on a beautiful sunny day with my new family! Could it be with you?? I enjoy the company of other dogs and have ignored my foster family’s cats. I would do best in a family that had older kids (12+) who were gentle with me since I am shy and am easily scared by unfamiliar or loud noises.
I am still working on potty training as this is something that my previous family did not teach me. I am also getting used to wearing a leash as this was completely unfamiliar to me. But I am so super sweet that I know the right family will have the patience to help me overcome my fears!!
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordetella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today! Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on its vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.
