Little Pocket is an 8 lb. 1 ½ year old (born 11/22/11) male Dachshund/Rat Terrier Mix. Pocket was bounced from family member to family member living in 3 different homes over the last year and a half. The stress was too much for him and finally his family realized he needed a stable household with someone that will love him and give him the care and security he needs. Fuzzy Pawz Rescue knows we can find him just the right loving home.

Pocket is a very sweet, playful little guy, but has some trust issues with new places and people. Having been bounced around with no stability and living with 4 kids recently who were all a bit rough with him he needs a bit of time to adjust. It took him a week to get totally comfortable with his new foster family and he loves them to pieces. He does still get scared when things happen too quickly or unexpectedly, but with time, patience and love he will get past this also.
Pocket LOVES to play fetch! He will get his tennis ball and drop it in your lap to let you know that he is ready to play! Pocket also loves cuddling on the couch and he loves to sneak up on the bed and buried himself in the covers!

Pocket would be good in a home with other small dogs or cats, no big dogs though, big dogs scare him. He is very affectionate but protective, so he will growl when approached if he is being held by someone or asleep. Because this cutie gets scared sometimes a needs to go to a home with no children.

Pocket is not potty trained and does not know any commands, but he is eager to please and very smart! He is picking up the potty outside thing and will master it with a little consistency. He will thrive with a home that will teach him lots and expose him to a lot of social situations so he can build confidence.

Pocket is neutered, vaccinated and will be micro chipped
