Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*****PLEASE NOTE: Because Mackenzie came from an abusive background and is fearful of strangers and new situations, she will require the following in her new home: a fenced-in yard; a playful dog for companionship; a quiet & nurturing environment. Any applications not meeting these three requirements will not be considered.****** Mackenzie : 2 year old cavalier king charles spaniel / jack russell; great with dogs, older, dog savvy kids and cats. 'The first thing you'll think when you see Mackenzie is that she's an adorable puppy; then you'll find out that she's actually about 2 years old. She's got a perpetually young face so will always be thought younger than she really is ... and don't we all wish we could be that lucky! Her big eyes dominate her face and seem to look right into your soul; then as you look a little closer, you realize that she has the cutest little snub nose, complete with underbite and snaggle tooth, so her lip is constantly pushed up in a lopsided grin. Then, as if she isn't already completely irresistible, you pet her and discover how soft & silky her coat is; then not only are you unable to stop looking at her, you become powerless in your attempts not to touch her. You might ask what breeds came together to create this perfect little 13 lb dog; the answer would be 'Cavalier King Charles spaniel' and 'jack russell'. Her face, coat and temperament definitely are those of the former; she's sweet and gentle and such a joy to be around. When you see her short legs and knobby knees, you'll have no doubt of the terrier in her either. Mackenzie revels in running as fast as her stubby legs can carry her, chasing her doggy friends around the yard, but also takes great pleasure in snuggling close in the lap of her special person. Her background is sad; she was confiscated by animal control from an abusive and neglectful owner. Because of this, she is somewhat timid with strangers so needs a quieter environment. She does need to have another playful dog in her new home as this seems to help her adjust to new situations and people. Her adoption fee is $300; she is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations. She has mild "IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome" which causes some abdominal pain/spasms once/twice a month; easily controlled by diet.
