Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Paula is a 3-4 year old Queensland Heeler mixed with a Staffordshire Terrier who weighs about 50 lbs. She is exactly the size and weight of a standard Queensland Heeler and has many of the characteristics of a herding dog, and looks more Queensland in person. About two years ago, someone tied her up to the front door of a boarding facility and that is where she has lived ever since then. She already had part of her ear and tail missing when she was rescued. Paula is very affectionate and loving with people, she has gone through a basic obedience class, and was the star student. She is intelligent, gentle, and has medium energy. Paula would be a wonderful dog for someone who appreciates the calm energy of a slightly older dog. We would like to say that Paula is good with other dogs and cats but it is difficult to write that she is since all she knows is a 4ft x 6ft chain link dog run almost 24/7. What we do know is that when she goes on walks, she has no interest in being aggressive or nasty to another dog on leash. She is quiet, very connected to her person, loves to ride in the car, loves to go to the park when a volunteer has some free time, imagine how great she would be in a loving home. Paula’s rescue would even consider a foster to adopt situation for someone who is not sure that they are 100% ready to adopt. This would be an opportunity to try out a dog and provide an opportunity for Paula to live outside a loud, stressful kennel situation. Downtown Dog Rescue is posting this dog as a courtesy posting. She is not part of our program. However, we are committed to working with the adopter /foster to ensure that Paula’s transition from kennel to forever home is a smooth one. She comes with a lifetime of free dog training, has been spayed, vaccinated and is micro-chipped. Please apply online at www.downtowndogrescue.org or call 818-407-4145.
