My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Birthdate: 12/19/12

Gender: Female, spayed

Breed: Doberman/Pitbull mix

Siblings: Hazelnut, Walnut, Cashew, Peanut, Almond

They might be named after nuts, but these pups are absolute sweethearts who melt in your arms and cover your face with kisses the moment you pick them up. Everyone who meets them falls in love with them instantly.

They love to play with other dogs, but their favorite playmates are cats right now. In fact, they’re living in the Cat Room at the shelter because they’re so small. Sometimes the cats even climb into the exercise pen with them for a snuggle.

We believe the pups are Doberman/Pit mixes, although they look more like tiny Dobermans than anything else. Based on their current size and age, we’re expecting them to be 40 to 50 pounds as adults, so adopters should plan on a medium-sized dog as an adult.

The pups have not yet had any housebreaking, but you can see how intelligent they are when they look at you, so we’re expecting them to pick it up quickly. Just expect some accidents in the beginning because tiny pups have tiny bladders. But before long, they’ll be pros. We recommend crate training as the easiest way to housebreak, and we’ll be happy to give you some tips.

The Nut pups are currently living at the shelter, so you can meet them any time during adoption hours, Thursday through Sunday 5 to 8pm, or call 330-397-8270 to schedule an appt at another time or on another day. They have already been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated, so they’re ready to join your family right away.
