Sugar is a 45 lb, 1 year old female, red Doberman Pinscher/Lab mix. Her family did not have time for her so she spent several months chained in the backyard. Her owners realized that this was not in the best interest of Sugar, so she was surrendered to HHS. Sugar is very affectionate and wants to be part of the family. Highly intelligent and playful, this girl would be a fabulous dog for agility, scent work or other types of dog sports. Sugar would love a job to do. She loves her tennis ball and carries it on her walks. Never having anyone to play with, she learned to play ball after only one try! She is learning to walk on a leash and walks very well with a harness. She is crate trained and has been in the house. Loyal to a fault, she will bond very fast. Sugar will have a tendency to be protective of her people and needs to be part of the family. Her ideal person is patient, experienced with dogs, active and wants a companion to join in the fun. Due to her energy, she needs a fenced yard. Pre-teen children are not recommended. NO CATS. NO FEMALE DOGS. Sugar is an HHS dog. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
