Well hello there NBSAR world! My name is Bailey. I am a 10 year old, 7 pound Maltese/Chinese Crested male owner surrender from the Allegan Shelter. You haven't seen many pictures of me on Facebook have you? Well, I came to NBSAR a little over a week ago. I was a rather shy guy at first. Every time my foster Mom pulled out her camera to take my picture, I literally turned the other way.
I came to NBS with staples in my neck from where I had been bitten by another dog. I was very nervous at first around the other dogs in my foster home and I would growl and charge them especially if they came near my face. I was really scared of the other dogs and just needed to remind them to not hurt me. I still growl at them now but I also kinda like them too. Shhhhhh, don't tell!! If I start to growl, my foster Mom just says my name and I immediately stop and give her the sad eyes. These are my sad eyes. Do they work?
I am a sweet and gentle fellow that LOVES going outside, going for walks, going for car rides, snuggling under blankets, and being talked to. I would do best in a home that did not have other dogs. Though I tolerate other dogs...I prefer my humans to be one-dog-kind-of-people. I want to be someone's world. So many humans have let my world crumble around me...but I am a dog and dogs don't give up seeking out love and approval. It's what we do best.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today! Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application. While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family.
