Spike is a sweet, loyal and loving, eight-year-old, ten-pound, male silver Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel/Poodle-mix) looking for a loving guardian. Spike lost his original home when his elderly human passed away suddenly. He is staying in a home with other dogs and is great with everyone – including cats and children. Spike is housebroken and well-behaved in the home. He will roll over on his back to have his belly rubbed. Spike’s weakness is food … he just loves to eat and came into rescue at a chubby 12.5 pounds. Through the TLC of his foster mom he has taken off the extra weight and needs to continue to stay on a diet and get exercise to keep at a healthy weight. Spike is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and de-wormed. He even had his teeth cleaned. He has a condition called dry eye and needs to have prescription eye drops administered daily to prevent blindness. Luckily, he is wonderful about taking his drops.
