My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Check out the legs on CRICKET! She sure is tall and lanky; she's ready for her chance to model on the runway. Cricket is another dog that really stumps us when it comes to determining her breed...she's tall, thin, and has bat ears. We think she's around 1.5-2 years old and is about 60 pounds.

She has been attending obedience class the last few weeks and is doing fantastically. She keeps a close eye on her handler, who just loves that attention, the foundation of all obedience training. And Cricket loves to please her person too. She is still a little nervous about a couple of the other dogs in class but she is getting more relaxed. And she is meeting new people too, another good thing.

Cricket is one of our many "last chance" dogs; her time was up at the kill shelter and we sprung her just in time! We don't know her history, but we have learned a lot about her while she's been at the rescue ranch.

This is what I have gathered from my time with Cricket and from what her foster mom says: Cricket is a little shy, but once you become friends she just wants to snuggle and shower you with her love. She is very receptive to positive reinforcement training and will be happy to do anything you ask; she is incredibly praise motivated. She has a medium energy level and loves to play with her doggy friends at the rescue ranch. Cricket also enjoys playing in the water.

Cricket will do well in most homes, all she wants is love and praise. She would definitely benefit from more social time and some confidence building. We are currently trying to get her fostered in town so that she can gain learn what it's like to live in an urban setting. Can you help foster her?? We desperately need foster homes...we can save more lives if we can place dogs in temporary housing.

PLEASE CONTACT s_smith_polo@yahoo.com to learn more and to request an application for adoption. It is our goal to make a great match between your family and one of our wonderful dogs.

Adoption fees range from $200-$250 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
