We know Calvin's not a "Russian Newfie", but he's got the Newfie temperament, the Borzoi look . . . and Adopt-A-Pet doesn't let us list "Gorgeous Fluffy Boy" as a breed! Calvin and Dexter are littermates, soulmates and the best of friends! They were brought in by Animal Control to an overcrowded high-kill shelter in Arkansas, strays never claimed. They get along so well, we have a dream that someone will open their heart really wide and let them both in, but we can separate them and we know they'll be fine. The boys are sweet and docile - - if they were bigger we'd call them Gentle Giants so we just call them Gentle! They LOVE to interact with people, and in the nicest way: they are very affectionate, love to be petted, and follow you wherever you go (slowly of course!). They seem to get along well with other dogs and they've been great with all the kids who come to the shelter. We think they are about 9 months old, they weigh just about 60 pounds, probably with a little more growing to do - - a nice size without being overwhelming.
