My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet gentle boy was brought to the shelter with a broken leg, probably the result of being hit by a car. The shelter manager, not the nicest guy in the world, fell in love with this gorgeous Doberman/Hound mix and asked Rescue to make a little room for him. We did and Doby was brought to one of the best vet hospital in NYC. We also figured out why the manager was so taken by him. Doby is absolutely wonderful! He loves everyone he meets, showing eagerness as well as humbleness. He is about 10 months old and quite thin, weighing not more than 35 lbs. But he has a great appetite and is putting on weight every day. We expect this handsome fellow to weigh in at 50 - 55 lbs. when fully grown. He would be easy to housebreak since he holds it in until his walkers come for him and then he explodes on the tree, right outside the front door. Such a good boy! Our vets said he had a clean fracture in his femur bone and with 8 more weeks of taking it easy, Doby will make a full recovery. He is dying for a home and family to love. He waits in anticipation for us when we come to walk him....he's up on his back legs with his big tongue sticking out happily, and anticipation in his eyes. He makes everyone smile with his love and enthusiasm. We think he would do well with other dogs as well as kids...maybe even cats.
