Twinkie is a very loyal and almost blind, five-year-old, male, black and tan Shar Pei-mix looking for a loving guardian. Twinkie enjoys the company of cats, and gets along with most dogs. He is fond of squeaky toys, and enjoys hanging out in a baby pool in hot weather. He knows the commands: sit, down and crawl. Twinkie still loves to play fetch despite his poor eyesight and would love a fenced in yard at his new home. His other hobby is de-stuffing fluffy toys. Because of his eyesight, he doesn’t like to be startled by fast movements, so he’s best in a home with adults and teenagers. Poor Twinkie was discovered living in a family’s attic. They hadn’t been regularly feeding him and he was nothing but skin and bones. Luckily Save-A-Pet gave him a chance. He warms up to new people slowly, but those he loves, he adores and gives lots of kisses. He is de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on preventative. You can meet Twinkie and all the other Save-A-Pet residents at the adoption center at 31664 N. Fairfield Rd., in Grayslake, Illinois, on Monday and Friday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, Thursday from 1:00 to 8:00 pm, or Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
