Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dolly is a beautiful Plott Hound/Treeing Walker Coonhound mix girl, who is our "poster child" for why dogs do NOT belong chained up in the yard. As you can see from the photos of her neck, she spent her time neglected and tied outside, and she has not received any training or direction. Dolly is like a love sponge now that she is at the shelter; we can't start her on leash training until her neck has healed, but she comes when we call her and really loves the attention she gets from the volunteers.
Dolly doesn't understand toys at all, and she is not even treat-motivated yet; she has so much to learn! She is about 2 years old and is full-grown at about 60 pounds. We would love to find a home for Dolly where she can be surrounded by peace and love, without loud noises or lots of frenetic activity. She will do best with a fenced yard and/or someone who can take her for a couple of long on-leash walks each day. Even without any formal training, she has been great about not soiling her kennel, so we think she is pretty much naturally housetrained when it comes to bathroom habits. However, as you can tell from the photo of her standing on a table, she is clueless about house manners! She really wants to please you, though, so should be quick to train. Dolly (and her new person) will benefit from a basic obedience course.
As an adult, Dolly comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.
Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $75; more gratefully accepted!)
Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your payment to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
