Pirate was rescued from the city pound. He is missing and eye and it looks like it was removed and stitched surgically. He is a very sweet boy and did very well at his first adoption event. He waited patiently and didn't bark at all the strange dogs. He did great with everyone who spent time with him. We don't know exactly what breed he is. He is smaller than a wheaten but the same coloring, stocky, short, and with a tail that curls over his back like a shih tzu, and has a really curly thick coat maybe some poodle? Whatever the mix he is super cute! His foster mom says he is a great boy and very relaxed. He likes to follow her around and cuddle. He is excelling with his potty training and knows basic commands.
Pirate is a true Southern gentleman: patient with other dogs, very compassionate with two arthritic geriatric rescues, "mature" companion for Tinkerbelle which has helped her to come out of her "stubborn funk" from being abandoned at BARC, and attentive watchdog who likes to quietly curl up on couch w/me & give kisses at night. Pirate is around 2yrs old and about 20lbs. Updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. The adoption fee is $125.
