Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gavin is an affectionate and loving 3-4 year old Miniature Pincher mix who is a sweet and sensitive soul. He was rescued from the Devore Animal Shelter on his last day. He walks well on the leash, and other than barking to alert that someone is at the gate, is mostly quiet. Gavin loves to lay outside in the sun and sun himself, or cuddle with the other dogs inside the house on a pet bed. One nice thing about Gavin is that he does NOT need to be near humans all of the time. He is potty-trained, and does not lift his leg inside the house. He is crate-trained and sleeps quietly in his crate throughout the night.
Gavin is one of the few dogs that as a rescuer I would say was probably kicked or treated meanly. Most likely, Gavin was treated meanly by a man, and he takes a bit longer to warm up to men. This has made Gavin a bit more tentative when meeting new humans, but he has truly come around to being one of the best dogs at the rescue. He is starting to have fun and run around joyfully, and also play. Gavin loves to cuddle and he is not intimidated by larger dogs. He likes to cuddle up to his Pit Bull foster sister (see photo). This is what rescue is about….not always going for the most popular or cutest dog, but reaching out to the one that needs you the most, or is not as popular as the super cute fluffies or scruffies we often see in T.V. commercials.
Gavin would do best in a home where he could have another dog, be it large or small, to be his friend. His best fit is probably a female, though he has been with multiple male dogs here at the rescue. Another good fit for Gavin would be as an only dog where he can spend more time with his human(s). Gavin weighs about 10 lbs.
Gavin is neutered, de-wormed, vaccinated including rabies, and micro-chipped.
