My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

These puppies have been transported and are regional. Absolutely darling little tykes were shelter born, their very pregnant mother arriving as a shelter dump (unfortunately a very common scenario in rural Louisiana), and from there their journey began. They have been handled daily and are today brimming, outgoing and adorably playful little puppy tykes :) Beautifully marked, from the proper to the quirky, this litter has a range of black-and-white and brown-and-white, some with tri-colored accents. All are puppy classics......affectionate and playful, too cute and sweet for words ;)....but within the litter there is a range of some who are more cuddlers and others who are more adventurous and playful. We will help match you to the puppy who suits you best :) These will be great little family dogs...one of their fosters has a rambunctious toddler, so they are used to kiddie mayhem and do just fine with it! Size is a guess. Momma weighed 40-45 lbs. or so, but these are on the smaller side, currently suggesting to mature to a small medium, somewhere in the range of 30 lbs. Their lineage is a total guess, but momma, who we called Momma Marshmallow, was a listed Lab mix who appeared to be a large Beagle mix of some kind with some Pointer in her as well. The looks of the puppies and their basic confident mannerisms seem to suggest daddy had some Rat Terrier in him. Momma was a very sweet dog who did not meet with a good fate, making the outcome of this litter particularly important to us. Scared and stressed in the shelter, having to birth her puppies in a cold, scary and unfamiliar place, she was protective of them and the shelter made the decision to allow her to raise them and then euthanize her :( This was a very sad loss for us, and the best now we can do is work towards forever happy endings for her little ones, as she loved them so. For optimum development and socialization, Southpaws Express keeps its litters together to age twelve weeks. They will be adopted spayed or neutered, fully up-to-date on their shots. An application is available on the southpawsexpress.org website.
