Ms. Liz - 2 year old female Black Labrador Retriever/?Doberman Pinscher mix. The people who turned her over to rescue claimed to have found her, but we suspect that they’d actually decided to dump their own dog when she got sick. And she was indeed terribly sick with Parvo, a deadly virus that affects unvaccinated puppies. It was touch-and-go for many days before she was pulled through with the help of a caring vet and a committed volunteer. The good news is that she has fully recovered and is now a happy, healthy and very energetic young dog Breed-wise, Liz has the best of both worlds – the people-focused personality of a Lab and the lean, leggy, finely-drawn build of a Dobie (or even a greyhound?). She gets along well with non-hostile dogs and is eager to play with willing ones, but her true love is her humans, and her favorite activity is being petted. Lizzie is housebroken, knows basic obedience, and rides well in the car. Her energy and enthusiasm would make her a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys walking, jogging, skating, biking, and most important, receiving lots of doggie kisses and hugs. Ms Liz is full-grown at a lean and healthy 55 pounds.
