My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The mother dog was kept by an irresponsible owner in Taiwan, who had little education regarding the importance of spaying/neutering. Last month, the mother dog gave bith to a litter of eight babies, two of whom were boys and the other six were girls. There is a superstition in Taiwan which regards an entire litter of black & white puppies to be a bad omen. The owner, therefore, decided to dump the litter on a remote mountainous area to die.

A kind lady living next door felt great sympathy for the puppies. She begged the owner to keep the babies until they didn't need milking from their mother anymore. The owner reluctantly kept the babies but threatened to dump them if the lady didn't take them away immediately after that.

When the owner's deadline had been reached, the kind lady sent all the puppies to the vet for a check-up and deworming. Since there is no place for them, she has to board them at the vet’s office. Currently all the babies are in great shape. They have wonderful appetites, are playful and adorable. What they need now is seeking them forever and sweet homes. At this young age, they would be fine with small children, other dogs, and cats, and should continue to receive a high amount of socialization to ensure the best temperaments when they get older.

The exact breed of these puppies is unknown but they appear to be black lab / schipperke mixes. They are about 2 months old and weigh around 8 lbs.

These puppies will be spayed/neutered, current on shots, and microchipped prior to adoption. They will arrive at SFO on February 8. Those that have not been adopted by that time will go to individual foster homes.

Please note that due to the young age of these puppies, they should not be exposed to high dog traffic areas such as pet stores or dog parks, or be exposed to unvaccinated dogs until they have received all 3 puppy shots.

Foster: If you are interested in providing a foster home until a permanent home can be found, please email your completed Foster Form so that we can best ensure you are matched with the right foster dog. If you would like to foster with the intent of adopting the dog if it works out, please complete an Adoption Application instead of the Foster Form.

Adopt:: We ask interested adopters to please tell us a little about yourself by completing an Adoption Application. There is a $275 adoption fee which goes to help cover a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A homecheck will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them.
