My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.

Ziggy is an adorable little fellow who lost his local home to foreclosure. He was DNA tested and he is a maltese--miniature pinscher mix! Ziggy is about 4.5 years old and he weighs 13 pounds. Foster mom says that Ziggy is a wonderful dog who is happy sitting on her lap or running around in the back yard with the other dogs in the foster home. Ziggy prefers to have someone around part of the time and when he is home alone he enjoys chewing his nylabones or watching the world go by out the window. His favorite game is tug-o-war and he loves to go for walks. Ziggy is good with kids 10 and older, cats, and other dogs. He is house trained and doesn't need to be kenneled. Ziggy is a happy, well-adjusted dog who will fit right into a new home where he can sleep in bed with his humans at night. Ziggy is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. His adoption fee is $200.00. Ziggy is neutered, heartworm negative and on prevention, up to date on shots and flea/tick prevention and has a HomeAgain microchip.

To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
