Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Birthdate: 4/18/11
Gender: Female, spayed
Breed: Australian Shepherd/English Spaniel mix
Siblings: Abigail, Coco
These are two very lucky puppies. We dont know exactly what happened to them because they were picked up as strays, but the fact that they managed to not only avoid traffic and stick together for safety speaks to either their incredible lucky streak or sheer genius.
They were found wandering the streets by a Hubbard woman who took them in and gave them shelter in her garage while she looked for their owners. When no one came forward, she had planned to take them to the pound, but luckily she decided to bring them to New Lease on Life instead where the various cuts and scrapes from their adventures could be treated, and they could find new loving homes.
Both Abigail and Coco are very friendly. They make sure every visitor to the shelter meets them, and they beg for petting every chance they get. Theyre also especially fond of visitors who give them treats. Those are their favorite kind of visitor.
We believe the girls are Australian Shepherd/English Spaniel mixes based on their size and coloring. Were expecting them to reach 40 to 50 pounds as adults, so you should plan on a medium-sized dog.
The girls are not yet housebroken, but we have no doubt that theyll pick it up very quickly. Theyre very intelligent puppies, and they want nothing more than to make people happy. We recommend crate training as the easiest way to housebreak a new puppy, and we would be happy to give you tips.
Both girls have done great with the other dogs at the shelter. They also get along very well with cats, and they love kids.
Abigail and Coco have already been examined by the vet, spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated, so theyre ready to join your family. If youre interested in adopting, please visit the shelter any time during adoption hours, Thursday through Sunday 5 to 8pm, or call 3303978270 to schedule an appointment at another time or on another day.
