Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Wheatie is an active, healthy, playful, and high-energy, 11-month-old, 17-pound, male, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier / Poodle-hybrid (Whoodle) looking for a loving dog-experienced guardian. Wheatie is very friendly and loves to run and play with other dogs. He’s also wonderful with dog-friendly cats. He does really well at doggie daycare, and at dog parks. He also loves going on walks, runs, and playing with his toys. He’s learning to sit on command (anything for food!) and he is crate-trained, and housebroken when kept on a regular schedule. Wheatie is also very quiet in the home, so he would be fine in an apartment, condo or townhouse. Wheatie is a non-shedding breed of dog, so he’s considered hypo-allergenic and will need to be professionally groomed – probably a visit to the groomer every six-to-eight weeks would keep his coat gorgeous. As cute as Wheatie is, he comes with some baggage from his un-known past which requires patience, behavioral management, and continued training. He is food-aggressive, so when he’s eating, or if other pets or humans are eating - Wheatie is crated. It has also been recommended that Wheatie be hand-fed so he knows where his food is coming from. Wheatie also gets over-stimulated and has a low threshold for frustration. He is looking for a firm, yet kind, dog-experienced dog-lover without children in the household to welcome him into their home for training, exercise and consistency. To meet and possibly adopt Wheatie, please contact Sheri at sheri@petraits.com or 312-961-4571. He is very healthy, neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested, and on preventative. His adoption fee of $250 benefits rescued pets.
