Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Speckle is a happy and very friendly, three-year-old, 60 pound, white and red spotted American Bulldog waiting for the perfect home. Speckle has a very laid back and easy going personality. Her foster mom said that she is one of the easiest dogs that she has ever fostered! She just loves everyone and everything that she meets. Speckle was turned into Animal Control at Kendell County where she was a shelter favorite prior to being pulled by rescue. She appears to have had a litter of puppies at some point. She is sweet and gentle and knows the commands sit and shake and has a delightful demeanor. She is living in a foster home with numerous cats and 16 dogs and she gets along beautifully with all of them. She is also housebroken and crate trained. She is just an all-around friendly and loving dog who would be a wonderful addition to any family.
Speckle did have an eye condition called Distichiasis. It is a rare disorder that normally occurs in purebred dogs where eyelashes grow in uncommon places on the eyelids and cause irritation to the eyes. It is likely that Speckle was born with this condition. Speckle had an eye specialist perform a procedure to permanently remove the excess eyelashes by using a special laser.
Speckle is now very healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped and tested negative for heartworm. To meet and possibly adopt Speckle, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net. She is currently in a foster home in the Chicagoland area. Her adoption fee of $200 benefits rescued dogs.
