My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET JASMINE!

This sweet girl got a second chance at the estimated age of 12 after being picked up as a stray by a local non-profit which helps Philadelphia community cats. Jasmine was microchipped which told us that she is around 12 years old and altered but unfortunately, the registered owner could not be located. At this point in her life, Jasmine deserves a home of her own instead of having to fend for herself outdoors!

Jasmine has been a very easy addition to her foster home where she is living with other cats and dogs, both of which she's comfortable and easy-going around after an appropriate introduction. Since landing back indoors, Jasmine is non-stop making biscuits with her paws to show her delight. In addition to being adorable, Jasmine is also affectionate, social, and tolerant of handling. We think she'd be an easy addition to just about any home.

Jasmine has been fully vetted since coming to the rescue. She has been diagnosed with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) which is a virus that weakens a cat’s immune system and is spread through deep bite wounds (ex: extreme fighting) and mating. Once indoors, altered FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives and pose no risk to other cats. One interesting thing about Jasmine is that though her mircrochip is registered as a spayed female cat, she doesn't appear to have fully male or female genitalia. Regardless, the condition doesn't impact her health.

Jasmine is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is altered, vaccinated and microchipped. She is FeLV negative. Interested in adopting her? Visit cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire!

More about this rescue

Operating as an independent subsidiary of Citizens for a No-Kill Philadelphia, City of Elderly Love is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue dedicated to saving and enriching the lives of adoptable senior pets in the Philadelphia area. Utilizing volunteer foster homes, City of Elderly Love aims to rescue these animals from potential euthanasia at area animal shelters as well as prevent older animals from entering the shelter-system in the first place, when possible. City of Elderly Love also provides palliative and hospice care when needed. Through creative marketing and community events, City of Elderly Love works to place its adoptable pets into loving adoptive homes.
