Arrival story: I was down on my luck, saved from a rural shelter, where I was picked up as a stray with an embedded chain around my neck and heartworm positive. While I am healed and living life to the fullest in foster care, my dream is to be a faithful companion to a special someone.
Approximate age / weight:7 years old and 55 lbs
Personality: My favorite things in life are toys and being with people. I am affectionate and very playful! I am also quite clever as crate-training and house-training was a cinch! I have learned good house manners and am not destructive. Well, unless a squeaky toy is involved and then all bets are off! I’ve learned many commands like sit, down, leave it, shake paw, and I’m working on come, stay and sit-up-pretty. I will not lie… my leash skills need work.
Being food-motivate and taking treats gently makes it easy to teach me new things. However, don’t let my size fool you. I am as strong as a dog twice my size. I have an intense prey drive for small creatures such as squirrels, bugs and even toads. Yes, toads! I will need a home without cats. I am working on not being so reactive to those things but this will take time. In the interest of safety, it would be best if my new family/person is strong and has bully breed experience.
I eat my kibble meals from a kong toy because it is more challenging that way. I like other dogs, but I have a rough-house play style that not all dogs can take, so I would do best as an only dog.
I am adora-bull!

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
