(ID #219) Hi, my name is Smokey.
I am listed as a special needs dog because I am deaf. My previous owners did not know how to handle a deaf dog. They didn't know that it is important to not startle me when I am sleeping since I can't hear you approach. So I would do best in a home with older kids who have been taught how to act around me.
I am playful and really love toys. I can learn hand signals so I know what to do. All I ask for is a little patience and understanding. I am longing to find my forever home and a family to love me. Do you have room in your heart and your home for me??
I am a young fellow, around two years old and I weigh around 54 pounds. I have already been neutered, given my basic shots, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
I am being sponsored by Sheltered Paws Dog Rescue. That means they are providing you with a getting started Goodie Bag when you adopt me. The bag contains a collar, leash, ID tag, training DVD, CD with helpful articles, booklet with training information, toy, and treats.
Contact Kathie by clicking here for more information on how I can become part of your family.
See you soon, SMOKEY.
