My story

You can see in his eyes the hurt he has been through. Dexter was found abandoned all alone at a pit bull breeder's when rescuers went to gather evidence to report them to animal control. All chained pit bulls were gone except Dexter who was hiding behind the house. Dexter is a 2 year old black and white pit bull mix boy, on the smaller side and very docile and gentle. Dexter does not appear to be all pit, we think after watching him maybe part springer spaniel. He has a split ear and had various wounds around his head when he arrived. His physical wounds have all healed up well and he is adjusting to his new life. Dexter shares a pen and a bed with his friend Hannah. He is pretty happy being here knowing he will be fed and warm and that nobody is mean to him. He is cautious around strangers until he gets to know you and realize that you won't hurt him. Dexter deserves a new life and people to treat him like a member of the family. Dexter has now been neutered and his heartworm check was negative so he is ready for adoption. Dexter is one of the Six Pack! The Six Pack are six dogs recently identified by shelter staff as the ones we most wish would find new homes. In addition to a reduced adoption fee, six pack adopters will receive a free portrait photo of their new pet, 30 minutes consulting by a dog behavior consultant, 50% off a grooming, and 3 days boarding at Almost Home.
