Dottie is a Jack Russell Terrier/English Pointer Mix. She is White and Brown. Dottie is 1 Year Old. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. She weighs around 23 lbs.
Dottie is an adorable little girl who's ears perk up as soon as she sees you! She was found as a stay along with her siblings at a rural pound. She is very happy to be out of the loud pound and is slowly opening up to all the people around her. The way to Dottie's' heart is FOOD! As soon as she smells food near you she perks up and jumps up on the baby gate and wags her tail. She really wants to trust everyone and even gives kisses to your hand after you give her a treat. Dottie really is interested in children and comes around alot quicker when they are around. We think since kids are smaller and close to her size she would do wonderful with a little girl of her own who will show her that she is part of the family and will get lots of love and treats the rest of her life. Dottie is coming around each day and we know with a home of her own she will blossom into an even better little girl!
Dottie would do well in a calmer household. She is slowly coming around to trusting more people, so she would need a family who is patient and loving to help her along her way to become more open. She loves dogs and feels very comfortable around them so if there is another dog in the household she would adjust more quickly. We would love her to have a fenced in yard in her new home since she is timid of the leash, but as long as she's not left alone and is on a secure harness when on a run in the backyard she does fine. Dottie just needs a forever home where she will be loved and have the time to blossom into the loving carefree girl we know she can become!
Dottie is not aggressive with other dogs, she has been with small, large, young and old dogs.
At the rescue we require dogs to be kept indoors.
There is a $100 Adoption Fee for all dogs. Which includes the Spay/Neuter, Parvo/Distemper Combo Shot, Rabies Shot, Worming, Heartworm Tested Negative if over 6 months and Flea/Tick Prevention.
