My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

N/M, 1.5 years, Akbash/Great Pyrenees/Akita mix, 100+ lbs

Howdy folks! I was relinquished to another shelter but a kind person
saw what a great dog I am and helped me transfer to MaxFund. It is a
relief to know I can now take as much time as I need to find my
forever home.
Well, a little about me: I am very friendly. I made a friend of a 6
year old while I was in transit and have been making lots of friends
with men and women of all ages since coming to MaxFund. While I also
like kids younger than 6, it would likely be best for me to have them
older than that in my home since I am an energetic kinda dog and I
might bowl little ones over - completely by mistake of course. You
must have noticed I am a big dog (Akbash, Pyrenees and Akita dogs
seldom come small) and I forget this sometimes!
I am playful, active, outgoing and have lots of personality. I am
still a bit of a fun-loving puppy with a good sense of humor. I
haven’t had much in the way of formal training but I do fine on a
leash and I can sit nicely for treats. Sometimes I will assume the
“beg position” and I also shake hands with you with both my paws. I
must admit, I am not entirely clear what you mean when you say “sit”–
but I know I will learn if everyone can be consistent. I like playing
catch and tug of war and anything else you would like to teach me.
Because of my behavior in transit and at MaxFund people have said I am
probably housetrained (that’s good isn’t it?). Car rides are fine with
me too. I am a happy and comfortable dog to be around and, if you need
motivation to go for a walk, I am always happy to provide it!
I need to be the only dog in your household – but with all the loving
I give I know that you will not need another doggie for that. Although
I ignored the cat in a house where I stayed for a while, it might be
better that I do not have a cat in my household either. I will chase
squirrels and livestock (sorry to all those people who keep sheep and
cows!). When I do give chase I have to say I am pretty strong – but
then, of course, all big dogs are.
If you are looking for a big, fluffy and affectionate dog to complete
your family please look no further and come and meet me! Remember my
name is Scout – as in Good Scout!
