My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brandy – 1 year old female Rhodesian Ridgeback/Shar-Pei mix. Brandy was dumped at the shelter the day before Thanksgiving while giving birth to her pups. She had 12 pups and all died but three when we rescued her the day after Christmas. She had several different infections not the least of which was her breast milk! The pups were nursing on infection and the remaining three were immediately changed over to goat’s milk. Brandy and her pups were treated with strong antibiotics and fluids but it was too late for her pups. The boy puppy died Jan 1st and the girls died Jan 5th.

Brandy was very skinny (32 lbs) and malnourished but with the antibiotics and good food her infections cleared up except for her eyes. Her lower lids were turned in (known as entropion) and the eye lashes were constantly scratching her eyes causing the infection and horrible discomfort to the point she couldn’t open them. She had eye surgery and was spayed March 15th and has made a beautiful recovery! She has gained weight (57 lbs) and is now ready for her new forever home.

She is a wonderful girl and loves everybody! Although she is hesitant with new people she invites all dogs to play immediately! We don’t know how she would be with cats although when she sees the feral cats outside she doesn’t seem to care about them. She does need training! But wants to please her people so will respond nicely!
