Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very fun-loving, we can't help but think of Leo. His smile is shining...and maybe just a bit mischievous.
Leo's rescuer was very quick to tell us that he is SO handsome..even cuter than his photos. She said that he has beautiful and expressive eyes (it can't be seen in his photo but they're gorgeous and filled with wisdom!). Once Leo has a much-needed grooming, his cuter than cute face will show the beautiful features of the Cairn and the cottony-soft, hypoallergenic coat of the Maltese.
Leo's rescuer was very quick to tell us that he is SO handsome..even cuter than his photos. Once Leo has a much-needed grooming, his cuter than cute face will show the adorable features of the Cairn and the cottony-soft, hypoallergenic coat of the Maltese.
Leo's rescuer shared that they know it's morning when Leo's little head comes under the blanket...getting closer and closer..and then a huge kiss of love. This curious and really, really smart 12 - 18 month old, 12 lb guy is a truly great companion. There aren't visible signs that Leo was in a very scary situation...he was viciously attacked by two large dogs. In awful condition and surrendered to the shelter to be euthanized, his compassionate rescuer saw all the great possibilities in this wonderful dog. She took him in and nurtured his body and soul for months. He's now healthy, very happy...and ready for a great forever home.
Leo's caretaker described this gorgeous boy as almost perfect! She said the following:
Leo is an often calm yet playful guy who is wonderful! He's a lovebug who wants nothing more than to warm your lap and is devoted and SO sweet! He's absolutely great with me, my husband, our 3 kids (from 14 - 20 years old) as well as our 2 dogs. His lucky forever family is getting a true gem!
We picture Leo as the best friend to retirees. He'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share his love and good will on a daily basis. Checkers would also do well in a family with older, dog-loving kids and another dog. He'd love the fun and active lifestyle...a long walk would put Leo over the top. There's also no question that he would be the most popular guy on the block. He loves to engage and just be his entertaining self. Even though Leo is usually up for pretty much any activity, he's not pushy or yappy. Exercise - perhaps long, leisurely walks socializing around the neighborhood ...and mental stimulation that comes from his time with his humans is important to this guy to keep him happy and well-behaved.
This adorable and fun-loving Terrier mix appears to be a non-shedder (although we would never swear to it). Leo will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his stunning coat cottony-soft and matt-free.
Leo will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 3/25/17. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
