Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This little pup is approx 4 months old and 9 lbs as of 2/15/16. He should be in the 20lb + or - range when fully grown. He is quite the personality!!! He is always in the middle of all the action and just loves to run and play. He looks like a tibetan terrier/havanese mix. He still needs house training and leash/harness training and any adopter must be willing to sign him up for training classes and we will require proof of enrollment with a qualified owner. We find that pups well trained pups are happy pups. He is just a typical puppy and we would prefer a household with children over 8 years of age.
The total adoption donation of $525 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. The application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/
Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law may add an additional cost.
