Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Eva is our BIG and beautiful 11 month old St Bernard/Coonhound mix that needs a new home. We transferred her to our Humane Society in December 2016 from the Gouverneur area Friends 4 Pound Paws Rescue after she was found running loose and no owner claimed her at a town dog pound.
Eva is very active, and already weighs 83lbs and is still filling out and could end up weighing over 90lbs. She enjoys going out for walks/hikes on our dog trail with the shelter staff, and loves attention and treats. We are looking to place her into a home that has experience with xlarge breed dogs as she needs someone that can handle her and train her. She is learning to walk on leash, but does pull and jump up on people and does not realize how big she is. Eva is also very reactive towards other dogs and cats, so we are looking to place her as an only pet. Due to her size and energy level she is not suited for young children, and is most comfortable around children 10 years and older.
Eva has been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on vaccinations. She has tested positive for lyme disease, but does not have any of the clinical symptoms. Under the guidance of a veterinarian we have started her initial 30 day antibiotic treatment. To find out more about lyme disease in dogs, please visit the following websites:

If you are interested in finding out more about Eva please contact us or stop by and ask to meet her in person here at our Humane Society's animal shelter.
