Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Raena is a 13lb, 1.5YO Scottie/dachshund mix.
Raena was found on the streets of Houston, TX. She was found with another dog that appeared to have a broken leg, but they were sticking together and navigating the dangerous and scary streets. A kind woman caught them both and brought them home. She searched and searched for their families because she figures such well mannered, cute dogs were clearly being missed, but after a few weeks she realized it was just another case of someone dumping their unwanted family members on the streets when they were through with them. The woman who had found them did want to take them to the shelter so she reached out to rescues to take them in. Our rescue decided that they deserved to have a second chance here in CO and that they would find wonderful homes here.
They are now in separate foster homes and are searching for their forever families. Raena is a little more timid, but once she realized that you are safe she warms up very quickly. She likes fetch, toys, and playing with the dogs. She is being crated at night and when the foster leaves the home and she does not cry at all. The foster also believes that she is fully potty trained and has not had an accident in her house.
The foster says she is crazy smart and thinks she would a fun dog to teach lots of tricks to. Right now the foster is teaching her sit, and stay. She has no toy or food aggression with humans, but sometimes if a puppy or dog runs up and tries to take her food or her toy she will snap a little. This is of course common for a dog who has not had much of anything before and thinks that if it gets taken away she will never get it again.
Raena needs a family who will play fetch with her, snuggle with her, and keep her mind working. She is such a love bug and needs a family to cuddle up with and call her own. Raena would be great with kids, and dogs. She does find it fun to chase cats, so she may be better off in a home without cats, although she has never tried to harm them, she just wants to play with them.
